I am a long time user of Xara Xtreme which I use for doing all my final art for publication. I have found that I can easily export my work in Xtreme using the PDF format which imports seamlessly into TBS. Practically all elements are imported as separate vectors which can be easily animated maintaining their color, gradient fill attributes, clip view features, etc.
For any who are not familiar with Xara Xtreme I would suggest you give it a try. I find it to be far simpler than either Illustrator or CorelDraw and, it is much less expensive.
