Worth it for Silver Support when buying Perpetual License?

Hey everyone, I’m planning on purchasing a perpetual license for Harmony Essentials, and I have two questions: 1) Is it worth it to buy silver support (mostly for future updates)? 2) If I don’t buy silver support, is it possible to change my mind later and get it, or is it only at the checkout?

well, silver is, in my opinion, better than gold for the price and features it includes. As far I know, you cant renew it after the new harmony version is released and your old silver support ended.

Here they state https://www.toonboom.com/support/policies :
You have up to 90 days to renew your support contract after it has lapsed. Once renewed, the support period will be backdated. Please be aware that you cannot renew support if a new release of software has been announced after your support contract has lapsed unless you first upgrade to the new version.

For me, it is worth it. I stay current and have support when needed. I also use Harmony all day, every day professionally, so for me it makes sense. You have to ask yourself if that is what you need. Do the math of buying perpetual+silver support vs a subscription and see how it shakes out. Hope that helps!
