I just updated Windows 8 today, and it is no longer letting me open Toonboom Animate. It has worked flawlessly before, but now I get a dialogue saying “Toon Boom Animate 2 has stopped working” with the subtext “A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
Have you tried setting the compatibility mode for the Animate EXE? Instructions here:
Animate 2 should launch in Windows 8 without resorting to compatibility modes. Most likely something in the Windows update has broken the licensing or perhaps updated something in the security settings which has caused the software to stop working.
Try re-installing the program and re-activating the license. If this doesn’t help to resolve the problem, contact support so they can help investigate this on your side.
