I have a problem with my 3.5.1 install.
system win vista.
problem access error when trying to save any file at all.
error unable to save animation set cant find file (file name.tbp.new.
I have set preferences to my data path D:\Project name\scene#.
how or what do i need to do to fix this ?

Is your D drive a CD drive or a hard drive?
Also make sure that your current user account has full permissions over the D:\Project name folder. If it is a network drive make sure to be connected to it prior to the save of the project.
The .new error means that means that it most likely did not create the backup .new file. This is caused either by not having the rights to write in the folder in question to create the .new file or to remove the .new file once the checkup is done.
