Upgraded to Storyboard Pro 6, activated license, but software still asks me to purchase a license

I purchased an upgrade license after Storyboard Pro 6’s trial period expired. I had 5.5 at the time, but couldn’t afford the upgrade yet. When I bought it and activated it, it asked me to start Storyboard Pro again, but it always brings me back to the message that my trial is up and that I need to purchase a license. I’ve tried returning it and re-activating and it doesn’t work. I cannot return it too many times because of the limitations on returns in 48 hours. Has this happened to anyone else? I got the email from Toon Boom that they’re out of the office and my card has already been charged.

Sorry the delay the office is closed over the weekend.

I believe I have answered your email whenever you have time please answer me back so I can assist you.

I got your email. I have exceeded the number of attempts im allowed to try and activate my product.

Dear Toon Boom-Edgar,

right now I am experiencing the exact same problem.
I found at least one other thread with a user also having that problem.
I already contacted support and waiting for a reply, but since I’m running out of time (I’m on a job), I tried to find an answer here as well.
It seems you know how to fix that issue. Maybe it is possible for you to post the solution here in the forum so anyone can access it quickly. I assume more users have or will run into that issue.
Many thanks in advance,

Has anyone figured this out yet?

Remove the folder /Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher.
Uninstall the software by dragging it’s folder to the trash and
then empty the trash. Do the rest from an “Admin” class user account:

Open a terminal Window from Applications/Utilities and run the
command: sudo spctl --master-disable
in the Terminal application

Go into the System Preferences and from there to “Security & Privacy”,
on the General tab set “Allow Applications downloaded from:” to “Anywhere”.
Keep this this window open during the following step in case an allow button appears

Re-install the software and launch the program by right-clicking and selecting Open.

I have existing non-server license of SBP 6. When I install over it with a new build I got this error. The valid license is still in the Wizard so I am able to return it. Then I re-activate with the same code and I’m good to go. Hope that helps.
