Toon Boom Films Exporting Too Fast

Hey there. I’m new here so I hope this works okay.

I’m brand new to toon boom; it’s just been installed at my university (I don’t have my own copy), and I can just about ink a sequence on an imported movie file. The problem comes when I export the film. The final exported film runs twice as fast as the actual pencil line test. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Could it be a frame rate thing?

I have noticed one thing which might help: my line tests were done at 12 frames per second (I THINK), while toon boom was set to export at 24. So I tried changing the files’ frames per second AFTER creating the document using this taskbar option in the document, image here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/809/imageforforum1.png/

Alas, it still exported at the wrong speed. The little old lady I am animating looks like she’s trying to win the olympics: walking stick division.

The same thing happened when I tried to change the frame rate in the export movie options area: no matter how slow or fast I set the frame rate it still came out at the wrong speed. Perhaps you need to set the frame rate right at the beginning, however I don’t seem to be able to change the initial frame rate myself when creating a new document. At the ‘create new scene’ option at start up, whenever I enter the ‘+’ option to edit the new file’s specific traits, it will not allow me to click the ‘create’ button. See: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/26/imageforforum2.png/ Perhaps this is a limit set by the university but I can’t get hold of a technician or a tutor to check.

I’d really appreciate any help here guys. Thank you enormously in advance.

(Oh, and on an offhand note, just in case I don’t already sound COMPLETELY lacking in little grey cells, does anybody know if you can fill an area with colour in toon boom? A paint bucket icon usually serves that purpose but I don’t seem to be able to get it to do it…)
