The Story of Thanksgiving preview

I really don’t know if I’ll have this done before Thanksgiving but I’ll give it a shot. Here’s the clip of scene one.

I like the voice actor, his really good.

i would like to see you animate the sea too.

Look on the bright side if you miss the deadline you have another year until the next thanks giving!

good luck!

Thanks, James! I did the voice of the rock ;D Yeah, I really should animate the water on this. I’ll see if I have time to do it. Thanksgiving is coming up fast!

I am very impressed. The voice sounds very professional and perfectly suited to the style.

Here’s the final version.

I really loved it. Perfect for your target auidence. I also normally don’t like what i view as preachy videos but I always quite enjoy your videos. So I think you are taking a nice balance where the morals can apply no matter what your beliefs are.

2 things:

1. I tried to fast forward (cause i watched half and then I got called to a meeting so I tried to go back to where I was and couldn’t. I assume I wouldn’t of had this problem had I let it preload).

2. After watching a second time I focused a bit more on the art and just at the start when the boat hits you have a few trees and bush with the outline offset. To me it felt totally out of place with the rest of the video. Yes I know it is minor, but that was all I felt was wrong with it.

Awesome job

Thanks for all the comments, James! I’m really thankful for all the feedback you give. I added the outline just for the sake of adding some additional detail to the otherwise flat objects, but, you’re right, it could’ve passed without it.

I always try to give constructive comments

I understand why you did it, but you didn’t do it in any other places that you could of which made it feel out of place. Consistency is often the trick to selling a style to the viewer.

Agreed - it was really really good VO! A charming little tale.

Great work!! How long did the production take?

P.S. When I get my money together, I’ll have to buy it. Reminds me of the Hanna Barbera cartoons. Well, well done!

Great work zeb, your work keeps getting better and better.

Thanks, Scary, Eric and Alex! I had fun working on this one!

It took me 58 hours total start to finish which comes to 18.3 hours per minute of animation. I worked on it on and off over the period of one month–other work kept popping up. But I’m glad I finished it! It now has over 4,500 hits in one week on my YouTube channel which is my best so far.
