TBS 3.0 Crashes When I Import Bitmaps


I’ve been using (or at least trying to use) Toon Boom Studio, Version 3.0
for quite some time now.

The problem that I have while running it on MY computer is that I am not
able to import bitmaps as texture swatches or as images. That is to say,
every time that I attempt to do that, the program crashes sometimes with an
error message like -

TBS.exe - Application Error

The instruction at “0x7c92afc5” referenced memory at “0xffccd4e1”. The
memory could not be “read”. Click on OK to terminate the program.

And thus I’m not able to import textures or images while working on the
vector-based Toon Boom Studio 3.0.

I’m just wondering - what does this sort of error message actually mean?
Can someone explain?

I’ve tried:

1- Formatting my computer.
2- Removing and reinstalling service packs.
3- Updating my graphics card.
4- Trying out other, older versions (demos).
5- And a lot more…

The irony is that it runs fine on a 4-year old computer of a friend of
mine. By the way, my PC configuration is something like this -

- MSI 915G Motherboard
- Intel Pentium 4 HT, 3.0 GHz
- 120 GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Disk
- 2 x 512 MB Transcend RAM
- XFX Geforce 6200 PCI Express Video Card

I’m wondering whether it’s a compatibility issue of software with hardware
or something else.

I’ve posted on other forums as well, and have noticed others who have had similar problems. But I am still awaiting a solution.
