I don’t mean to pester you guys but I’m trying to decide on the best hardware upgrade path to take (for a machine dedicated to STBDPro) and I’m getting kind of worked up about making the right choice.
So anyway, wacom is coming out with a new cheaper 12" version of the Cintiq in a couple of weeks but the screen is only WXGA and not the resolution listed in the hardware requirements.
STBDPro seems to work fine for me when I set my monitor to the lower resolution, so I’m just wondering how hard and fast a rule this requirement really is.
Thanks,
-Paul
Hi Paul,
I would personally wait to have more detailed specifications about the resolution for the Wacom. The only thing that could be bothersome is that if the resolution is too low you won’t have access to certain part of the interface. We recommend 1280x1024 since this is a standard size in which you can see all your tools properly. With lower resolution you might have to make some of the tabs smaller or hide some of the interface information to have a good drawing zone.
In any case I guess this is more of a matter of preferences then anything. The fact the screen is bigger or smaller should not affect the software performances.
Best regards,
Ugo
i think any brand or any size for the monitor is ok right for creating the animation ?
Hi,
Getting a lower resolution monitor is fine by itself but you need to be aware the lower the resolution is the less workspace you will have to draw and have access to your tools. If you are ready to sacrifice some tools or drawing space I guess you could get a screen that has a lower resolution then the minimum requirement.
In any case hope the informations is helpful to you.
Best regards,
Ugo
