Scaling drawings

Hi, I think I’m missing something fundamental.

I can scale a drawing by selecting it and moving the corner point.

When I use the properties box to scale the drawing by a certain amount it only seems to work in the camera view not the drawing view. This seems weird in the extreme - or is it me?

Hi,

The property window is actually the values you set to your whole element. Therefore if you work in the drawing view you won’t notive any difference. Using the properties tab is pretty much the same as using the scene planning select tool and applying scale/offset/rotation to your element so you can set static values to your element throughout the whole scene.

Best regards,

Ugo

Thanks Ugo, I thought I was missing something profound.

Is there a way of scaling an individual drawing by a precise amount (e.g. 10%) rather than just grabbing a handle and doing it visually?

Cheers

Bren

Hi,

Since scale is at a value of 1 when it is not scaled by default you could use the Function editor to change the value of Scale H or V to be 1.1 if you want it to be 10% bigger.

The function editor is the way to do your animation in a more mathematical way so any specific values should be input there.

Best regards,

Ugo
