Rigging - bone deformers deforming in the wrong places

I made and rigged this puppet, but the bone deformers on the legs, when moved, a random part of the thigh juts out? And when one of the feet is manipulated, part of the deformation gets stuck and the image is stretched as a result.
As you can see the placement of the extension is very unfortunate…
I’ve looked around a lot and can’t seem to find any solutions to this online? I have no idea what’s causing it!


Yes… I have the same problem… It gets better or worse depending on where I place the articulations, but it never goes away completely.
