Rigging an arm with tassels with Deform tool

I’m rigging an arm which has some spike things on it (basically tassels), I’m using the deformer tool on the arm and need the spikes to follow with the arm.

With the parent the spikes art messes up and if I pop the kinematic output node on they don’t follow the arm.

Any ideas how to fix this?


Separate the tassels into two layers and have the ones before the elbow bend be only connected to whole arm parent peg and only move when whole arm is moved, and tassels that need to move with forearm connected via kinematic.
