resizing matte in Animate standard

i tried to increase the radius of a glow effect but that didn’t work even at its highest radius value.
is there a way to do this in Animate standard?

Either make your layer a child of the Glow effect…
In the Glow effects Layer Properties check use source colour…
Or copy/clone your layer, drag it behind the original layer…
Then drag that copied layer into the Glow effect…
Play with the Radius…1 to 5 should be plenty…
If necessary, scale the copied layer slightly up…

Nolan

Could you give an example of your issue?

I have quick tip on setting up glows somewhere on my youtube channel. Do you get similar results? Remember the background colour can effect the glow.

Nolan’s tip actually worked…thanks everyone!

TheRaider, my issue was, i had a magical light beam, and wanted to it have a large glow. i wasn’t happy with the size the glow effect first gave me, so i kept raising the radius up to a 100! and was still not happy.

thanks again!

I actually have a tutorial on light beams on my youtube channel  It is actually one of my more popular tutorial with over 1000 views.

Also make sure that you pop over to the Render View to preview your effect. OpenGL doesn’t show all the effects.
