Re:problem with exclude from IK

Select the Animate and the Inverse Kinematics button…
This should make all the Bones and Pivot points visible in the viewport…
Shift-click any Pivot point to lock it into place… (it turns red)
Shift-click any Bone to hold the orientation… (it turns blue)
Shift-click again to unlock it…

From the Tool Properties / Selection: select Enable Selection… (first button)
This should show a black cross in the Pivot point of the top hierarchy…

Lock (nail) an arm or foot etc. into place, then move that pivot with the cross around…

I am watching tutorial on youtube from Seen Creative

it talks about IK basics. At 6:53 when having to click the button I dont get the + sign at the center, instead all bones from Peg disappear. I have only one peg in the character tree that contains all other body parts. He said that we need to change the behaviour of the central point so that the character does not rotate around it. At he did it right, inside the white circle there was a + sign and I could not achieve that, I only got ? sign over my real head.
