is there anyway to draw in a raster form rather than the vector line drawings?
or how can you keep the program from modifying your drawing when it changes my line into a vector?

Storyboard Pro is vector based so the drawing tools are vector only. You can however import raster images and textures.
If you don’t want the line to change, I suggest turning down the smoothing for the pen style to 0. Another thing that may help is the Menu->edit->Preferences->Drawing View tab->"Show Brush
