puppet problem

I have already asked a question like this earlier but I understand the problem more now,in a cut-out character you have to make things appear in front of each other using the Z axis which is what a work-out tutorial told me, it works but it leaves a problem, when I move the back part of the arm, the fore arm dis-attaches itself from the back arm, since its on a different layer of the Z-axis, how do I fix it? ???

I would like to show images of this problem but I need to know how to import screen printed pictures on this forum.

Well, if one has an hierarchical build “Arm” like:
“Hand” dragged into the “Fore-arm”, “Fore-arm” dragged into the Upper-arm…
(typical in a cut out character)

In the Properties check the Z position of your arm-parts by clicking on them with the Select Tool (6) - either type in the Z-values manually, or proceed with the following technique…

Select the Select- (6), or theTransform Tool (7)… if you want to set keyframes…?
Select the Upper-arm / hold down the alt/option key (Mac)…
Use the up and down arrow keys for back- and forward (Z) movement…
(the whole arm moves back or forth)

Select the Fore-arm / apply the same technique / only Fore-arm and Hand moves…

Select the Hand…

If you like to show images or movies of your projects…
Upload them to, e.g. “flickr”, “photobucket”, “imageshack” etc,
or similar free hosting websites, (there’re plenty around), then post the link here…
