paste without offset?

when i copy and paste between panels or layers, the pasted item appears in exactly the same position as the original.but when i copy and paste in the SAME layer, the pasted item appears at an offset to the original.is this behaviour optional?anyway I can avoid it?one workaround is to go previous-panel, next-panel before pasting, but there has to e a better way.thanks

When you paste on the same layer, it is offset, as you say. This was intentionally done to avoid accidentally doing multiple pastes without realising it. With an offset, you can clearly see that you have correctly pasted the item. One thing that you can do, however, is after you do the paste, click shift-left arrow then shift-up arrow and the object will be back in the original position.~LillyToon Boom Support

This was helpful to me, because I had the same question.

Harmony 22 now has Paste in Place.

A new command named Paste Drawing Object in Place is now available in the Edit menu. Unlike the Paste Drawing Object command, which pastes a copied drawing object with a slight offset, the new Paste Drawing Object in Place command always pastes the copied drawing object in the same position as the original. The new command can be accessed from the Edit menu and has the Ctrl+Shift+V (Command+Shift+V on macOS) shortcut assigned.
