Particle question

I have been trying to make all sorts of fireworks for an animation I am doing and I been trying to figure how to link particle systems.

Does anyone know how/if possible to create a particle system at a point where a particle dies.

For example I have say a dozen particles shoot into the sky at the point they die, I want them to trigger another particle system at that point which explodes.

Although I could manually place I feel there is a better way I am missing.

Well I know that you can make one particle system of another particle system. You’ll actually see this in the “Fairies” example. But I am not sure that there is any way to have the death of a particle trigger the birth of another one. I’ll double-check, but I don’t think so.
