Hi
I know from nothing about Nvida cards, I am looking at the 8500 GT pciE 1gig card. Is it up to speed for:
1 Toon Boom Animate?
2 basic gaming. I relax at times with Video games.
All thoughts and feelings on this card or others below 200.00 Us welcomed.
I am on a fixed income so cash is very tight and I would very much like to cross grade to Animate so need to keep the costs down to make it possible.

Hi,
You might be better off with an 8600, it will be much better for gaming and you will find it more stable with our software. If you have a chance always go for the higher hundreds of the series, those are much better gaming wise and will give you good performances with our software.
I think you should be able to find this specific model for under 200 US easily (checking on the internet I found some for less then 100$ Can).
Best regards,
Ugo
Thank you Ugo for the reply I will look for it ;D

Hi
Ok here’s the story. This month when my check arrives sometime between the 5th and the 8th I will become the proud owner of Animate YAAAAAY
now the question
I can at this time get the nvidia 8600 gt or the xfx nvidia 9800gtx2 for the same price. The 9800 is the fast according to bench tests but I learned long ago faster isn’t always better. So for Animate which of these card is the most stable for the software ?
Thanks in advance
Mikie
I would go for 9800 if it is the same price.
In general, higher series has faster bus speed (8000 and 9000). Only thing for the rest of the numbers, above 500 tends to perform better compare to the price. Since your 9800 meets the condition, you can go for 9800.
The thing you need consider now is, due to the requirement of more power of 9800, you may require to have a stronger power supply (watts and Ohms) that you need to check the requirement of the 9800 and prepare your hardware combination to avoid power shortage.
Ok Thanks Just wanted to make sure.
I have one shot at this money wise.

I asked Santa for this …
PNY GeForce 9800 GT EE 1024MB Graphics Card - 1024MB, GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, Stereo, Dual VGA Support
From reading this thread I think this should do just fine. Opinions anyone?
It turns out my current Graphix card Sux, maybe after I get this I might owe Animate an apology. It’s not speaking to me right now :-\
