multiple pegs

how can I make it so that a character moves on to the screen and then lets say 50 frames later I want the character to move off screen?

I have been doing this a very hackneyed way, I just want to know what is the best way to use multiple pegs without having to rerender different versions of the same scene so I can get the movements I want?

I am in version 2.5 and I am on a MAC.

There are a couple of ways to do that.

1. Do two pegs, each doing the thing you want where you want. The item you’re trying to work with should be attached to one peg, and that peg should be attached to the other.

2. Do one peg with a pair (or a set, depending on move complexity) of keyframes for each move you want to make. The last keyframe of the first set and the last keyframe of the second set should have the same settings, which will result in static image in the middle.
