Messed Up with Pegs

It’s my first time using Harmony and I’m trying to create a shot that pans up. I originally wanted to use pegs to gradually raise the animation but decided to do it manually instead. I deleted the peg layer but the animation still pans up! What do I do?

Most likely you were scaling the drawing, not the peg, that’s why even when you delete the peg the shot pans up.

For animating drawing layers’ pegs without affecting the drawing I do Layer Properties → Controls → uncheck Animate Using Animation Tools

Look onto the timeline, maybe your drawing have movement keyframes. If so, just clear these keyframes and reset the original drawing position.

I am not expert but I just want to tell you that you may have keyframes set on one of your layers that is causing the animation to continue panning up, even after you deleted the peg layer. Here’s how you can fix this:

  1. Select the layer that you want to stop panning up.
  2. In the timeline view, navigate to the frame where you want the panning to stop.
  3. Right-click on the layer and select “Insert Keyframe” or press F6 on your keyboard.
  4. Go back to the frame where the panning started and delete the keyframe on the layer that you want to stop panning up.

This should stop the panning animation on that specific layer. Repeat these steps for any other layers that are still panning up if necessary.

Alternatively, you could try using the “Camera” tool in Harmony to animate the pan, as it allows you to easily set up and control camera moves with keyframes.
