Making Line Art unaffected when using the Glow Effect?

Hi! I asked a very similar question earlier ( http://forums.toonboom.com/harmony/support-and-troubleshooting/way-make-character-outlines-unaffected-tone-shader ) about how to make the Line Art of a drawing unaffected by the Tone Shader. Your responses were very helpful, thank you!

However, now I have the same question for the Glow effect. I’ve separated my drawings into Line Art and Colour Art, but when I apply the Glow effect, the Line Art’s color changes when I just want it to remain unaffected.

Is there a particular node setup I should be using, or something like that? Here’s what I currently have: http://i.imgur.com/I8Ry7nw.jpg

“Group” is my character’s layers (arms, head, hands, etc). And “purpmin” is an irrelevant layer.

You can see I’ve also tried setting up a Color Override (with the color of my line art added under “Individual Colour Overrides”, but I can’t figure out how to get the image to display when I use that…

Lastly, I tried doing “Override Modeling by Colour” under Normal Map properties and added the Line Art color there and setting the number to 0 but that didn’t have a noticeable effect.

Anyways, please help if you can. I really love this program and appreciate the awesome support, too!!

Can you confirm if the line art was really separated from color art in that group? And the connection is only connected for color art? It is hard to see it in the picture for the option but by looking at it, there is only one connection out from the group so I am not sure if they are really separated.

As for color override, which option are you using? And beside of that, were you trying add a blur on light shade? It will be a bit difficult to say it without understanding the entire network and purpose.

Thank you for your help!

You’re correct – I wasn’t separating them correctly. I changed that and now it’s working as intended (edit: except for a problem which I explained in the next post).

For “Color Override”, I was adding the color of the line art, but I probably wasn’t setting things up correctly in Node View and I’m still not sure how things are supposed to be arranged. I’ll be doing more research on it after submitting this reply.

I’m just going to tag another question on here. I’ve noticed that when I separate the Line Art and Color Art, line art from lower layers is for some reason showing up over drawings in higher layers.

This is my new Node View setup: http://i.imgur.com/JIdWzym.jpg

When I change the Nodes so that the Colour Art and Line Art aren’t separated, the problem goes away.

What might I be doing wrong now? I’ve verified again and again that my Line Art and Colour Art are properly set up & cleanly separated in the Drawing layers.
