Mac OS X 10.6.3 Crashing

Is it only with me, or Animate doesn’t open after 10.6.3 upgrade on Macintosh?

I click on Animate app, then the icon bounces for few seconds on the dock then I get this message: “Animate quit unexpectedly”.

I upgraded to 10.6.3 and haven’t had any issues with Animate, Studio or Comic Boom.

Mine also crashes on startup after updating.
Looking on the apple discussions page, it looks like people are having similar problems with Adobe products and even some Apple products!

Here is one of many examples:

I have not found a solution yet.

All right folks we have a workaround for this crash! The crash is related to a software update done by Apple that is related to the printer setup on your computer. If you are getting a crash after your 10.6.3 update, please do the following:

Create a bogus printer:
1) Open your system preferences
2) Go to Printer and faxes
3) Click the plus button to add a printer
4) Select IP
5) Type a bogus address like dummy.printer.com - see the attached screenshot:

6) Click Add
7) A dialog box will pop up - see screenshot:

8) Click continue on the dialog box

Now you will have a dummy printer, and this should prevent the software from crashing.

Please give this a try and if you still get crashes then send an email directly to support@toonboom.com.

Thank you.
