Mac crashes when running Quicktime and TBS

When I use Quicktime to play a .mov that I’ve exported from TBS my Macbook crashes - screen goes black, keyboard unresponsive, only option is to hold power button down until it turns off.

Anyone else seen this? Any known fixes?

Mac OS 10.6.8, Macbook Pro 15" mid 2010, TBS 8.1.

Thanks.

As far as I know, TBS 8 needs an Intel Processor with Mac OSX 10.8 or later ?
I presume you’re using QuickTime 10.3 ?

Did you already Repaired Disk Permissions and restarted your system ?

Does QuickTime crash with any other file, or just the TBStudio ones ?

Do you have any Maintenance Tools, e.g. TechTool Pro, Disk Warrior etc. ?
If not, try one of the free ones, e.g. Onyx: http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php

Ah…indeed TBS does require Mac OS 10.8. Guess I’ll try that first. Thanks.

Upgrade to Mavericks 10.9.1 and the problem no longer happens
