I’m trying to make a light beam that will fade at the bottom where it is facing the land with the strongest light as it comes out of its origin, at the top. Is there a way to produce a soft fade in Animate 2.0, so that it fades from its origin to its end point?
Try a gradient and maybe a little blur…

yeah my tutorial is essentially gradient and blur. However i did before this thread appeared ;D
