Is there a way to "lock" layers like in photoshop?

I want to shade an existing layer without drawing outside of the boundary. In photoshop doing this is as easy as toggling the layer as locked. Is there a way to do something similar in storyboard pro?

Select multiple layers or a group. Choose Lock Layers or Lock All Layers In Group from the Layers menu or the Layers panel menu. Select lock options, and click OK
