Inverse Kinematics and motion paths


I’m fiddling with IK on a cutout puppet, which has made quick work of a walk up stairs cycle. I’d like to see the arc that each foot takes as it avoids the next stair.
Is there a way to visualize the path of the pegs? Each peg has a 3D path, and I’ve selected Vew > Show > Control. I can see the X for each control point, but don’t see any orange path.

Does moving pegs with the IK tool NOT change its coordinates?
