Hey guys. In order to have IK working properly, do you need to convert your drawings to symbols first? Or better yet, is there an advantage of converting your images to symbols for anything? Thanks.
The main advantage of symbols is the container nature of them.
You don’t need to convert to use IK.
Personally for characters I see little advantages for symbols. However they are good for creating containers for backgrounds. I never use symbols with characters anymore.

I know what you mean. Animate is so flexible that you can do anything with just plain drawings including substitions. When people come from flash they have it drilled into them you have to make everything symbols. Animate gives you the choice for which works better for you.
