I really need help accessing the program

So tonight I downloaded the trial version of ToonBoom to see if I would like it. When I opened it, I logged in and all that. Now, when I open the app, there’s a window that tells me “A trial has already been installed on this system. A second trial cannot be activated” with the options to quit, activate a license, or buy the program. I can still create a new file but since I can’t minimize the first window I can’t actually do anything in the file. If I close the window the program quits. What do I do? I can’t buy it until I’m sure that I will love it, so I need to be able to use my trial version normally.

Did you reboot your system after setting up the trial?

Here is one possibility: By any chance did you download and install the trial software sometime in the past? If you have ever installed the trial you will not be able to get another trial running without deleting files with the help of Support or reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling the operating system.
