I have drawn a set of mouth shapes that I want to use for all of my characters/objects.
But the problem is there are several objects that are at different angles, facing different sides, of different sizes and shapes.
Eg: I have drawn a set of mouth shapes for a CPU (that talks). But now, I want to re-use that same set of mouths for monitor, keyboard, printer, mouse, etc
These devices are all different. How do I change the whole set of mouth drawings to fit / suit different objects / characters.
I would also have to change angles (eg: keyboard is flat and facing the ceiling)
You can modify, to some extent, your same mouth shapes for a different character by attaching a Peg and resizing, squashing, stretching or skewing it so that it fits the new character. If that doesn’t work, you just have to create a new set of mouths.
So, the best way would be to create a set of mouths for a character, then, save it.
Then, copy that and use it for another character. But this time, do these:
“resizing, squashing, stretching or skewing”, then save it again. Then, copy it again, and just continue with the process for all characters?
Is there a better process for doing this? or what is the most efficient or effective way of doing this?
What Zebtoonz says. I create a “universal” set of mouths for all of my characters and then scale/skew them to fit. I even go one step further and “animate” the mouths using the scale tool… which really kicks the lip sync animation up a notch. I cover that process in this blog post:

If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to create a new set of mouth shapes. But this method works great for me!
