How to copy and paste a vector drawing from Animate to Illustrator?

What I need to do is to somehow transfer a vector drawing from Animate to Illustrator. Regular copy and paste won’t work, so I tried the Export feature as well as the Render Frames feature. I can export the selected frame via Render Frames, but it is not a vector drawing.

Can it be done? And how?

As far as im aware not directly. The only format with a vector export is flash.

From Animate export as swf. Open swf in Flash and export to fxg. The fxg file you can open as vector in illustrator.
