how do I get my character to carry something

I have a character walking carrying a tray of food and was curious if there is an easy way to affix the tray to its hands without using pegs or adding to peg layers

Wouldn’t a simple hierarchy do just that? i.e. make the tray a child of the character/hand…


The easiest way to is to parent child.

What I do is create 2 layers, one for the the parent child and one that is free. Then when I want to switch I just turn the exposure off on one layer and back on for another.

Creating two layers will be very easy and also very helpful. But how does they make these two layers.

right click on layer and choose duplicate.
