how change a draw in a frame without affect the others draws?

how can i change a draw in a frame without affect the next (and previous) draws?

suppose that i have the draw “3” in the frames 1-2-3-4-5
and i want to change the draw in the frame 3, but ONLY in the frame 3. how i can make it?

because if i change the draw in the frame 3, it will change in the 4 and 5. and sometimes that it’s really annoying!

thanks!

Thanks nolan, but, what if i want to change for a already existing draw (and not for a duplicate). that’s my original question

Well, that’s exactly what the duplicate drawing feature does…
It separates that selected drawing from the other ones…
Call it “Make Independent Drawing” if you like…

My apologies, if I still don’t understand your questions ?

suppose that i have 3 draws:
the draw 1 its a open hand.
the draw 2 its a close hand.
the draw 3 its a thumb up hand.

and i have in the timeline the draw 1 in frames 1 to 5.
the draw 3 in frames 6 to 10.
and i want to change the draw 6 for the draw 3 (the thumb up hand) BUT still have the draw 2 in the frames 7,8,9 and 10.

if i change the draw in the frame 6, it will change in the next too (the 7,8,9 and 10). how can i change ONLY in the frame 6 the draw?

the duplicate drawing make a duplicate from the selected draw (suppose that its an open hand (draw 1)), and now i have 2 exactly draws (the draw 1 and the 4, the new one create by duplicate). but, what if i want to change the open hand for a close hand (the draw 2, the one that i already have draw).

i hope now my question be more clear now

Using the drawing substitution window will always replace the following drawing of the same name/number as well.
I guess, this is intended workflow, making swapping elements as easy as possible.
