Hello Everybody

Hey folks, I’m a relative newcomer to Toon Boom (I’m already in love.) after 15 years of After Effects.

Just saying hi. I look forward to talking to all of you.

Why are you switching to Toon Boom? Just curious, I’ve heard AE is good for animated puppets but I don’t know how powerful it is for serious animation.

Thank you!

AE is amazing for puppet work and FX and obviously very strong on compositing and final touches as that’s the bull of the software.

Where AE generally falls short is traditional frame-by-frame animation and with simple asset swaps.

The layer stacking and pre-compositing can make things very complicated, particularly when doing edits and corrections.
