I have been using Harmony’s dbu.exe to query information from toonboom’s database (which jobs/envs exist etc) so that files can automatically be written within the scene filestructure (for use within scenes). This has worked fairly well since around Harmony-10.3.1.10629 .
C:\Program Files (x86)\Toon Boom Animation\Toon Boom Harmony 126.96.36.19958\win64\dbu.exe -t \MY_SMB\USA_DB\envs\env.db
However, starting with ToonBoom Harmony 188.8.131.5258 the process is failing and the following result is being returned to me:
08:44:46.925 dbclient (Bad database data dictionary): //MY_SMB/USA_DB/envs/env Could not open the startup database: \\MY_SMB\USA_DB\envs\env
I can use control-center.exe, and stage.exe just fine, so it is not the install, nor an issue with the database. I was wondering a few things:
- is dbu.exe safe to use in production, or is it for internal use only
- Would anyone have any insights as to what might be causing the issue?
- Does anyone know of another way to get project-structure information from toonboom?
Thank you so much for reading, have a great day.
