My clip rendered backwards and upside down, what am I doing wrong?
Difficult to know.
does it look correct when you preview it?

Are you saying the rendered clip begins at the end and ends at the beginning…as well as being upside down?
Upside down could be from having more than one camera in the scene and selecting the one which was inadvertently rotated 180 degrees as the camera view to render. You can work from one camera but render off a different camera.
