freezing the character feets

Is there any way to freeze the characters feet when using the deformation rigging to animate ?

The only way I know of doing that is by duplicating the leg layer, adding a peg and putting its connection to the whole rig rather than the leg layers. Then while animating the normal feet having no drawing (thus being invisible) while the moving legs have the immovable planted feet.

Here is a 2-part tutorial describing a process that involves reversing the rigging in order to lock the feet to the ground. It was made when Harmony 11? was current but the technique could still be relevant and adaptable:

I’ve seen those before but haven’t figured out a way to do that in 12/14 outside of duplicating feet and putting a separate peg.

Here’s a very recent video tutorial by Frank Summers that tells you how to do it. There are lots of great tutorials on his Youtube channel, by the way.

Is this just a coincidence that someone posts the question and Frank covers the topic in a tutorial ready to publish on Youtube the following day?

I wish this happened all of the time.

Tried that, worked perfectly, awesome!
