files getting too large

I’m using Toon Boon 6 to create a lego stop motion animation, and I my file is over 5 GB and takes over 10 mins to save. I’m only a third way through my animation, so am envisaging up to half hour save times… not really practical! Is there any way I can start saving the next part of my animation into a new file, and then at the end merge all the separate files into one final animation? (I have to use an external hard drive as I’m not allowed to use the computer’s hard drive as it’s shared). This is the first time I’ve used Toon Boom 6. Thanks.

Create for every shot a new project, that will make sure that project sizes are kept at a reasonable small size…
Later, assemble those in your favourite video-editor…
