Fade In/Out effect?

I’m making an intro video clip in Studio 8.1 for my youtube videos and I need help with fading an image in.

All I have currently is that it’s imported. What do I need to do next? Thanks a bunch.

Can you provide more information about what you want to accomplish?

Is it just transitioning from a static photograph to the video content at the beginning of each video?

Or, are you talking about making a short animated segment and the transition takes place within the segment itself?

This fading in… what is present at stage 1, the beginning of the portion where the image fades in? Is it a cartooned background drawing or solid color, or something else?

I want to make it so that an image fades into view in the middle of the animation.

Here’s one of the animations I made in flash:

You don’t have to watch the whole thing. Fast forward to the end, about 1:56 and after the whole “Donate to Charity” statement, it will then say “Ian Hulett Films” and after that, the background will fade in. THAT is what I want to do.

I am going to watch that. In the meantime have a look at this section of the Studio user’s guide on transitions that come ready to apply in Studio.

The technique of animating transparency described in this video could be used substituting your objects with the square and circle. You can adapt the approach to fade a single object out leaving only a background or you could make a large rectangle using it as the background.

Using this technique you could even use a copy of the same object but in different degrees of transparency depending on what you want to achieve.
