Export png sequence with transparency background

Hey, I want to export my scene like images sequences with transparency background, but I don’t understand how I can do that. When I put “Export - Movie” I can chose an other codec, it’s obligatory .wmv.
It’s normal?
Thank you

First, disable or disconnect any colour cards you have.

File->Export->Images if you’re using Essentials or Advanced, a dialog will appear where you can choose PNG as the format and transparent as the color mode.

If you’re using Premium you’ll have to set PNG4 as the output format in the Write node and then go to File > Export > Render Write Nodes

What is colour cards?
And how do you set PNG4 as the output format? Because when I goes to File > Export > Render Write Nodes, I can’t choose the format.

Colour card is a solid colour background that you might use temporarily before using a final background or if you just want to have a colour as a background. To export with transparency you can’t have anything on the background. Neither a background nor a colour card.

You need to select the format directly on the Write module, in Drawing type.

Ok thank you very much, but It’s normal that I can’t change the movie option?
It’s inevitably wmv…

In order to export .mov files, you have to have installed Quicktime.

In these cases, I always recommend to export to images (png is a good format for that) and assemble the video in an editing software. It’s less prone to crashing and you can correct errors easier that way. Though some people export to video in low resolution for previewing.
