I done really understand how this works in detail so I cant get it to work.
I want to duplicate an image and then edit the duplicate but when I do that the first image is edited too so there seems to be a link between these images.
this is often good but not it´s not.
I am not sure how you can remove that link in a duplicate image.

Use Duplicate Drawings (shift+option+d), this command creates an independent duplicate of your in the timeline selected drawing in the Library.
Use the Drawing Substitution Slider in the Library Panel, or the Parameters Slider to select it.

What about copy and duplicate.
You can drag an image and use ctrl to copy that image but if you want to copy and make a new copy?
