Whenever I draw a line, the vectorization of it seems to simplify it, or round it out, or sometimes converts it to a straight line. It basically dumbs it down in a very frustrating way. I find myself drawing everything twice or more…

In the tool options for your brush you can turn down the smoothing and contour smoothing. It also depends on how fast you’re drawing the lines as well. I like using the smoothing and find that drawing slow helps retain the line as well, to a certain degree. I would say try it with the smoothing set to zero first.
