deformer overlapping issue

Hello all!

I’ve had some time to play with the deformers again, and I’m running into an issue that I’m not sure how to approach. For the arm, the character has three layers of an upper-short sleeve, a fore-arm arm, and a hand. The bone is running through the sleeve and the fore-arm, and the hand is plugged into the kinematic output port. Pretty basic.

Here’s the issue: I’m trying to make it so that when I tweak the arm to an extreme, I would like the fore-arm to overlap the sleeve in a natural way. I’ve included a pic with a red dotted line to how I would like the fore-arm to rest on top of the sleeve:

I tried putting the fore-arm on top of the sleeve and using a cutter to define the intersection, but that didn’t seem to work. Any thoughts? Thanks!

For fun, here’s a link to PIctionary’s title theme for the NES, because why the hell not? Hahahaha

There is no magic to order the layer front or back since it is same drawing. There are however few ways of doing it. You can have part of drawing you want to put it on top by copying it to overlay from line art will show on top. The draw back is that you have to change the overlay to under if the arm has to be under the sleeve. Other possibility is splitting arm into two (upper with sleeve and lower arm) by creating a new layer for lower arm and connects to the same deformation group. And then play with z value (alt + up/down arrow) to decide either front or back of sleeve. This way, it takes longer to set up but has more flexibility for the animation.
