Cutter tool selects correctly but does not delete anything when "Del" key is pressed

Hello,
Brand new PC Dell Win10, 16 GB, Nvidia card. Harmony Premium 17.

  1. When drawing a simple elipse, the screen displays the “shadow” of the elipse (screen view attached) rather than the final elipse.
  2. Cutter tool selects correctly but does not delete anything when “Del” key is pressed

Preferences restored to default. No change.

  1. Why is the view black? First, try adding a Colour Card. Otherwise I am not sure what I am seeing in that image. I do not recognize the conditions of that graphic. How is it that a shadow is involved at all? On my system the ellipse tool behaves as I expect it to. The screen is paper white with whatever colored linework.

  2. This will likely have something to do with the keyboard. I have two delete keys on mine. One works with the cutter tool as expected. The other does not. If you have two on yours try the other. If not try using the fn (function) key to toggle to the variable functions of keys.
