Creating animation from traditional art

Hi all,

i just discovered those aniomation software: in fact i’m looking that could be used to animate some traditional art work. This means that i would like to draw in non digital way and then be able to animating it. Could this software be usefull? The projecet is to make a short anime movie: but the idea is to animating only some parts of the artwork and the background. It like a storyboard but more complex. The question is then if those artwork have to be repainted with this software and then animated or can the original artwork be used without having to draw it again?

In Toon Boom Studio you can scan a drawing using a TWAIN scanner and convert it to a vector drawing to animate it.
