Copyright issues

this is a pretty dumb question, but I animate with (of course) toon boom studio, and edit with sony vegas. I’m wrapping up animation on my current project, the deadline is in about 3 days. I would love to make dvds and distribute them for a small price, if possible, but I’m not at all familiar with copyrights when it comes to using programs to make a movie. can anyone clear this up? I tried addressing the main site itself, but the answer, if it’s there, is buried beneath hundreds of other topics.

thanks anyone, if you can help.

Hi Jared,

As a precaution, it is a good idea to copyright your media before distribution.
You can do a search for the location in your area for copyright services.

Regarding Toon Boom Studio, if you have the retail version of the software, it is fine to distribute its created content for profit, however if you have the academic version, its content is for learning purposes rather than for sales.

I hope this helps!
