I think that it would be very handy if the Contour Editor had a feature that would try to keep the contour’s shape when the user deletes selected contour points.
The desired goal of this operation is to keep the remaining points unchanged and to try to maintain the initital shape without adding new points, but by trying to compensate by adapting bezier curve handle values only.
For this reason, it might make sense to restrict the availabilty of this operation to when only one single point is selected.
