Colour Scale Effect Problem

I’m using colour scale to make the effect of a character appearing from a black silhuette. I made all the keyframes in the data view and changed the values going from 0 to 1 so he goes from all black to the actual colour. But when I look at the render view the colours differ from how it looks in the opengl view. why is that?

don’t use colour scale. That is meant for scene wide effects.

Just duplicate your layer. Make the duplicate black. Then use transparency to fade it in.

TheRaider’s suggestion is probably the easier way of doing it, to be honest.

But regarding the original question, when working with effects you should always preview the final effect in Render View, as the OpenGL view is only a preview and sometimes what it shows is just a representation.
