COLORS ARE DISAPPEARING

I’m fairly new to this program, and have recently ran into an extremely annoying issue.

After saving and reloading a color palette, many of the colors do not come back. Instead of showing up as my color, they all appear a bright pinkish purple. I recognize this as a substitute color for colors not being found, though I have no idea why this would be the case. No matter how I save or backup my scene/color palettes, ever time I load previous work a random assortment of colors are turned purple. I have tried to fix this, but the only solution I found so far was to manually redo each missing color. This has been an ongoing issue in every scene I have made.

This is very frustrating, as I need colors to remain consistent between scenes. Not to mention finding every color is a very tedious task. Even if I close and immediately re-open the program, a bunch of colors go missing. To my knowledge nobody else has had this problem online, so any help is very much appreciated.

Try to save the problematic file as a New Version and delete the old file.

I had the same issues also with Toon Boom Harmony 16 where the palettes for my characters keep turning into this magenta purple. Fortunately, it’s not altering the color palette file, so you can use the .plt file and the listed RGB values as a reference to get your colors back. Every time I fix the colors and close the program, even more colors will go missing and change when I reopen it. So, I tried saving the file as a new version and it seemed to fix the problem. I’m very sure this isn’t an official fix so I don’t know for how long it’s going to work, but it worked the first and second time I opened it.

You can also try updating to Toon Boom Harmony 17. Maybe they fixed it by now.

I also have this problem. Random colors are being saved as Magenta and when I re-open my file, there are always one or two colors that have turned to Magenta.

I want to ask, i can open this software, but if i want my project file, it automatically close it self. Why it happen?

hey there. I discovered when you create a new palette instead of using the default one, it fixes this issue. let me know if that helped.
