i have a project i am working on in harmony advanced, but i would like to upgrade to premium. is it possible to open and work on the same project in the premium version?

You can open Essentials and Advanced projects in Premium.
Note: Doing this in the other direction, opening higher tier Harmony projects in lower tier versions, renders the feature absent in the lower tier untouchable.
For instance, Premium has a lot of effects which are missing in Advanced and Essentials. A Premium project utilizing any of those effects would have those effects locked and you could not edit them in the lower tier versions.
